About Me

Hi! I’m Andrew.

I’m just another kindred spirit searching for my place in this world. This is my story.

I’ve yearned for adventure for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I had always dreamed of being an astronaut. Something about exploring the unknown and unfamiliar excited me like nothing else.

When I began college, I enrolled as an aerospace engineer. After a year, the practicalities of life and expectations of my peers got the better of me, and I became obsessed with “success” as defined by money, status, and whatever else we are fed by society. I switched over to electrical engineering and added a second major in business, in hopes that the intellectual rigor combined with the polished soft skills would land me exactly where I wanted to be.

I found employment as a management consultant, lured by the challenge of solving executive-level problems as a 22 year old, couched in the decadent luxury of fancy hotels, international travel, and so on. It was everything I had ever dreamed of, and yet, something was very clearly missing.

I longed for a life of adventure that I wasn’t living, and probably never would. During my years in New York, this manifested itself in seeking out the rooftops, cranes, and hidden underground tunnels of the concrete jungle with a community of like-minded urban explorers. It was there that I discovered my love for photography and reignited my passion for adventure.

In 2019, five years into my career, I decided to take a sabbatical to recover what I felt was missing in my life. I found my way to South Africa and met Samuel Cox, who opened my eyes to the wonders of the natural world and schooled me in the art of wildlife photography.

In 2020, the year that a global pandemic brought the world to a standstill, I finally mustered the courage to break from my career and explore the idea of living my passion full-time. When lockdowns began to lift, I jetted off to Istanbul and then to Kenya to see what sort of adventures lie in store.

The galleries you’ll find here are a reflection of this ongoing search for meaning and purpose in my life. They are reports to myself, sent from new places of my heart. They inspire me to continue my journey, to seek new and fresh ideas of living and share them with the world.

I hope you’ll join me along this journey and be inspired as I have to seek out that which your heart truly desires.
